There’s a joy in having a purpose

My answer to one of Rev. Rick’s questions this morning, what brings lasting satisfaction. To quote Glennon Doyle, “Find what breaks your heart and that will be your purpose.” Finding a purpose after retirement can be difficult. For Bob and I, people living on the street is heartbreaking. Doing what little we can to alleviate this has been fulfilling and brought us satisfaction. When a smile and cup of coffee is offered and a smile and thanks, bless you is received it’s satisfying. A little thing but much appreciated by our unsheltered neighbors.
